We are a full service company to include plumbing, electrical, drywall, paint, flooring, carpentry, tile, clean-up, demolition and hired labor services for that “extra hand” you may need.  We are your professional answer to the typical “handyman”.  If your need is not on this list, just call. We can do it! And if we can’t, we can refer you to one of our professional network providers who can.  I Am Handyma’am! is a female owned, home service and repair company created to give victimized homeowners an alternative to the rampant dishonesty and disrespect so many are accustomed to. We are here to help.

Established in 2013.

Annette Jacobson, owner and founder of I am Handyma’am! started her background in construction in 1979. In 2011, when she found herself unemployed, couldn’t find a job and unemployment running out, she needed to come up with a plan.  She had always done small fix-it projects for friends and family.  With their encouragement and support, a foundation was laid and Handyma’am came into being. Knowing the struggles faced by homeowners, who want quality, professional and courteous service, the mission statement was born :

“It is our mission to provide an unprecedented home service repair experience to our clients by showing them the professionalism, expertise and courtesy standards by which we perform.”

In 2013, taking a huge leap of faith, the company know as I Am Handyma’am! has jumped into the pond of the handyman business so that people will take note that they do have choices – hire a handyma’am who will treat you with professionalism, courtesy and respect, or hire bubba.

Meet the Business Owner

Annette’s background in residential repair is long and skilled. Her father was a general contractor and she was exposed to all kinds of projects from an early age.  From being on the farm and watching her father build barns and repair barbed wire fences to building her own home at age 19 with her now ex-husband (and yes, they are still friends) to having a specialized career in the plumbing field, highlighted by the instructor position, teaching the plumbing trade at a technical trade school.  Annette is still very much hands-on in the work field as well as making strides in the growth and development of I Am Handyma’am! Annette attributes her focus and balanced work ethic to her upbringing. ” There were hard times, and we weren’t handed everything on a silver platter. Often we heard the word “no”, not because my parents were mean, but because they wanted us to build character, learn to problem solve and learn how to survive and make good choices. The choices part, well, we all grow.”
